Dell Certification And Experience Required

Responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, access, and backup for enterprise wide systems. Technologies supported include operating systems, servers, networks, system security, hardware and other software applications. Troubleshoot system issues, resolve or recommend solutions. Create and manage system documentation, including configurations and backup procedures. Create patches and updates as needed. Participate in the definition and implementation of system components including new servers, hardware, software and upgrades. Install, upgrade, support and troubleshoot operating systems. Must possess solid knowledge of operating systems and networking hardware and software. 0-2 years of experience functioning in a Systems Administrator capacity is required.

Requisition Notes:

Provide server hardware support for large scale server environment. Primary focus will be on hardware support for a Dell Poweredge server infrastructure.


Skill Set Description:

At least 1 year of experience supporting installation and maintenance of Dell PowerEdge servers in a large scale, highly available 24/7 environment. Oncall support is required. Working knowledge of Red Hat Linux and Microsoft Server OS, networking TCP/IP, DNS, WINS, and DHCP is desired. This position requires a moderate amount of physical exertion necessary to install/de-install server equipment in a data center environment. A general understanding of industry best practices surrounding proper maintenance and support of a 24×7 server infrastructure. Applicant must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, be self motivated, and work well in a team environment. Personal transportation is also required in order to travel between different locations around the city as workload and oncall issues may demand.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Dell Certified Server Engineer (DCSE) or equivalent (Expert)

Dell server hardware configuration and troubleshooting (Expert)

Ethernet / GigE Networking (Expert)

Storage Area Networks (Intermediate)

TCP/IP (Intermediate)

Active Directory (Intermediate)

DNS/WINS (Intermediate)

HELPFUL SKILLS:

Dell enterprise level server management toolsets (OMSA, ITA/DMC, DRM/PSM) is highly desired. Microsoft Certified Systems Admin (MCSA) is helpful.
