Geer Services, Inc. is pleased to announce we have obtained certification by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB).
“Upon approval, the Program Participant has documented proof of eligibility. This gives confidence to VA that set-asides are being awarded to legitimate firms owned and controlled by Veterans or Service-Connected Disabled Veterans. This helps stimulate the small business community and create growth for the economy.”
What does this mean for Geer Services? Approved firms are eligible to participate in Veteran-Owned Service-Disabled (VOSB) and SDVOSB set-asides issued by VA. We are eligible to subcontract with VA’s large prime contractors in acquisitions where additional evaluation credit is desired. In addition, it gives any business, State government or Federal Government entity the assurance our company is actually a SDVOSB.
We appreciate the support of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) while going through the certification process and if you want to hire a veteran owned and operated company for any of the following service areas, please contact us!

In closing, this was an arduous process to go through, but the VA is the only agency with access to military records to verify business owners are actually service disabled veterans. The most difficult part of this process was providing all of the documentation required to prove service disabled veterans actually run their businesses each day. We attempted certification in 2011 when the program first began, but were unsuccessful because of the difficult process the VA had in place at that time. This time we began the process on March 20, 2015 and were certified on July 1, 2015. The process is much improved and the support from the VA staff was great!
