Geer Services salutes and thanks our Veterans for their service to keep our nation free! Geer Services is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business and as such we appreciate what our military continues to do to allow each of us to live our lives each day. Many of the young service members from today suffer injuries that most cannot comprehend and we honor their sacrifice. Many or our older veterans will not be with us forever, and they deserve the recognition as the “Greatest Generation” for their fights in WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam and other war zones around the world.
I was fortunate not to leave the United States and go to Vietnam in the late 60’s, as I worked for the Navy (O&R, currently NADEP) at NAS Jacksonville. There, I worked on Navy Aircraft that were damaged in Vietnam to rebuild them so they could return to battle.
When I enlisted in the Air Force, I was fortunate to be US based in an air defense unit that was responsible for defending the southeastern United States. I retired after 31.5 years. My son Richard who is co-owner of our business also served in the Air Force and 8 of his years was helping to convict those who committed drug and other heinous crimes here in Jacksonville. You would not believe the carnage carried out by criminals on our streets that local law enforcement, first responders and military support personnel have to deal with. Richard retired after 20 years of service.
